Prop stylist Sarah Guido reached out to me, she seemed cool so I asked if she was keen to do something really off center, I still remember the look on her face when I said I wanted to make the alphabet from bacon and shoot it… fortunately she was as keen as me to do it
Bacon is one of those beautiful ugly things, The idea of it, strips of pig flesh and fat is really disturbing, but when you look at it the colors are this kind of fascinating marbling, and then when you taste it, WOW! Bacon is something I have wanted to to work with for a long time, probably because of the cool cult it has surrounding it at the moment.
The font is Old English and has a strange history, from being Hitler’s favorite font, to the most used tattoo font and the font I see every day at the top of my New York Times.
